David Beckham's tendon injury from the Manchester United match got him benched for 8 weeks from any physical activity. No one wanted to hear that the captain would be out of a very important game. Especially because he is not going to be able to play for the World Cup. The team of England still has time to call for a replacement. Beckham would be used as a coach. The team coach, Fabio Capello, thinks that David Beckham could be used during the World Cup. Beckham hopes to still travel with the team. In my opinion, David Beckham would be a great coach for the team during the team's important game. Beckham has set the record for 115 playing times in the position of an outfield player.
The high physical activity involved in sports can cause injuries to the tendons and ligaments as well as acute injuries from accidents while playing. Ligaments and tendons can become stretched, resulting in a sprain or strain. Tendonitis, or irritation of the tendon, is also common in athletes. Beckham should be fine afterwards and is questioning if he should participate in the next Manchester United. Don't worry, Beckham, you'll be back on those soccer feet in no time!
Great job Janice! you sound like a true newscaster. its too bad that he will be benched for the remainder of the world cup though. At least he will still be of some help as a coach. This will definitely be a major drawback for the team.
ReplyDeleteThats quite unfortunate for England considering hes the backbone of the team. Atleast he'll be siting field side supporting the team, durring the World Cup.
ReplyDeleteA tendon injury is on of the worst injuries to get, especially when you use your feet the most. It is a shame that Beckham will have to be benched during the World Cup. This will have a pretty big impact on the team, especially because he is one of England's key players. Hopefully his coaching skills are as good as his playing skills or else the team will be in trouble. Hopefully he will recover sooner and get to play in the World Cup.
ReplyDeleteThats to bad for him, England is going to have a tough time with him not being out on the field. Its a good thing that his great sense of the game will be put to use though as an assistant coach.
